At EPS we believe in a technology with meaning policy, where each project is designed to develop 21st century skills. Starting in third and fourth grade students are introduced to the Microsoft Office suite and touch typing. Students engage in hands on activities that teach the foundations of computer science programs. Fifth and sixth graders engage in projects designed to integrate and build on word processing, programming, spreadsheets, collaboration, and multimedia skills. Seventh and eighth grade students participate in a computer programming course where students not only develop their programming skills but also build on problem-solving, computational thinking, and communication skills. Our technology program engages students in developmentally appropriate projects that promote innovative, conscientious, and resourceful thinking and enables students to become self-confident business leaders of tomorrow.
