Early Childhood Academics
Early Childhood Education at Explorations is a positive, nurturing experience that sets the foundation for each child’s academic, social, and emotional success. Through our thematic, hands-on learning experiences, children build a sense of belonging and kindle their curiosity during the most significant period in their development. Our youngest students cultivate a mind-set that enables them to become independent lifelong learners who are not afraid to take risks.
Pre-K 4
A holistic approach focusing on social, emotional and academic development is at the core of our Pre-K program at Explorations Preparatory School. Four and five year-olds are challenged academically through engaging, hands-on activities focusing on the promotion of literacy and math skills. A high importance is also placed on social and emotional growth by cultivating collaboration, leadership skills, self-motivation, expressive and receptive language, and positive self-esteem. Our Pre-K environment fosters successful and enriching learning experiences each day that prepare our students for Kindergarten and beyond.

Kindergarten
Explorations Prep tree frogs grow by leaps and bounds in kindergarten in preparation for their transition into our lower school (1st – 4th grade). Proficiency in literacy and math is fostered by Saxon Math, Saxon Phonics and Writers Workshop. We use a hands-on approach to actively engage students and to foster a love of learning. A focus on social and emotional growth is also promoted through collaboration, mentoring, positive peer interactions, self-sufficiency and leadership skills. EPS kindergarten is designed to permit children to explore new pursuits and begin to discover their passions and interests. We believe each child must be given the opportunity to explore the world around them to discover how to best grow their individual talents and gifts.
